If you're like most people, there's a thing or two you'd like to improve about yourself. Maybe it's a bad habit you picked up that you'd like to get rid of, or maybe it's your posture or how tight your muscles and joints often feel.
And there may be things you'd like to improve about your horse, too. Some performance or behavioral issues, for example.
Whatever you'd like to improve, it's tempting and common to just try to CORRECT the situation. If you're slouching, well, then just straighten up!
If your horse's back is tight and dropped, do what it takes to get your horse to lift her back. Simple as that!
Or is it?
When we correct movement or behavior, we're contradicting what the nervous system is doing. That doesn't promote safety or trust.
In this episode of Easier Movement, Happier Horses, I explain why it's soooo much more effective to CONNECT, rather than correct. Give it a listen and try it out!
